The Law Firm of Management Guidance, LLP represents employers and employer associations. Our practice is concentrated in labor relations and employee benefits matters, and service as general counsel to 501(c)(6) industry associations. Through travel and technology we work seamlessly with clients located throughout the country. Our clients include national industry associations and local employer associations, Fortune 500 companies and family-owned businesses. We pride ourselves in offering practical, real-world solutions to the unique issues faced by unionized employers.

Our attorneys have negotiated many hundreds if not thousands of collective bargaining agreements of all sizes in multiple industries. We have extensive specialized experience leading groups of employers in the negotiation of industry-wide collective bargaining agreements. We frequently handle union-employer disputes, including grievance arbitrations and unfair labor practice charges. We advise employers on labor-related matters of all kinds, ranging from employee discipline and discharge to defined benefit pension plan withdrawal liability.

Our attorneys serve as professional management trustees on Taft-Hartley multiemployer pension and health plans, including vary large funds and complex plan designs. We have worked with plans to implement major changes, including conversion of defined benefit pension designs to variable design and the implementation of novel plan designs.

In addition to our employee benefits work as professional trustees, our firm provides counsel to employers that contribute to multiemployer plans in collective bargaining and strategic planning, and to employer trustees of multiemployer plans. Our advice and counsel is uniquely based on this experience in addition to our legal expertise.

Because of our experience with unionized employment environments, we frequently provide specialized guidance on a range of issues with facets unique to unionized employers such as merger and successorship, employee handbooks, and union employee discipline/discharge. In this role, we often work side-by-side with the client’s corporate counsel to ensure that specific labor issues are addressed.

MGLLP works with numerous 501(c)(6) employer associations. Our attorneys have significant experience advising associations on general operations and governance matters, all types of labor relations subjects, and the wide variety of other issues encountered by multiemployer groups. In addition to general counsel, MGLLP provides law-related services such as association management to key clients.
